Events in San Jose - San Jose's 7th Annual Dia de los Muertos Festival

Join the San José's 7th Annual Día de los Muertos Festival happening on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at St. James Park from 11am to 6pm. This festival, also known as Day of the Dead, is all about celebrating life in the company of family and friends. Come join a day of fun and entertainment followed by a night of music, singing, dancing, laughter and celebrating your loved ones that have passed.

The festival will have several activities to partake in and entertainment to enjoy. Make your own sugar skull for the celebration. Sugar skulls are the icon of this festivity symbolizing death and afterlife. They are often used to decorate altars and you'll be able to create your own to have for years to come. The first 100 kids in attendance will get a free t-shirt to color and wear thanks to the sponsorship of KQED and Somos Mayfair. Entertainment at the main stage will include Mariachis, ballet folklórico, lucha libre and Aztec dancers, among other fun acts. You can check their lineup calendar to plan your day. Various artists will also be there selling their pieces to the public. These are all influenced by the Dia de los Muertos traditions and Lucha Libre, so you'll be sure to take with you a festive work of art.

Excited to join all the Dia de los Muertos fun happening this year in San Jose? Make it a weekend getaway with the entire family or crew and book a room with us at Crowne Plaza San Jose - Silicon Valley.
