Family-friendly San Jose, CA Flea Market - 55th Anniversary

Since 1960, the San Jose Flea Market has been the place to shop for all kinds of treasures. It's open rain or shine. Admission varies and is usually tied to parking fees. Parking on Wednesdays is usually free, $3 on Fridays, $7 on Saturdays and $10 on Sundays. If you don't drive to the Flea Market, you might be charged a $3 entry fee. If you ride your bike, there are racks at the main entrance. Remember to bring your own lock. The Flea Market only accepts cash so be sure to hit the ATM beforehand. There are machines located throughout the Market too. Some vendors do accept credit cards.

You might find the Flea Market overwhelming the first time around. There are 2,000 vendor spaces. You'll find everything from antiques, clothes and cell phones to produce, lotions and cookware. Produce Row is more than just veggies and fruit. You can also purchase agua fresca drinks here. Another great treat is the churro stand near the exits.

The nostalgia factor definitely kicks in when it comes to food, with carnival fare like corn dogs and cotton candy. There are also local favorites including burritos and tacos. A fan favorite of the Flea Market is the beer cart that makes its rounds through the rows of vendors. Sip your brew while you shop! Kids love the carnival rides and activities including the rock-climbing wall. Mariachis entertain the crowds on the weekends, getting shoppers in a lively, toe-tapping mood.

Crowne Plaza San Jose - Silicon Valley offers a selection of relaxing hotel rooms just 6 miles from the flea market!
