The season of flowers is the perfect time to plan a visit to a garden. San Jose has several ones open to enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of nature. Add the Chinese Cultural Garden inside the Overfelt Gardens Park to your list of gardens to take in and explore in San Jose this season and beyond.
When you first step into the Chinese Cultural Garden, you'll notice its peacefulness. You'll find the busy lifestyle of the city fades away when you stroll through its quiet ponds and stately pavilions. This garden was inspired by Frank and Pauline Lowe in 1971. Mr. Lowe wanted to bring Eastern and Western societies together in a tranquil and beautiful setting while staying true to Mildred Overfelt's intent when gifting these 33 acres of green to the city of San Jose. Six acres of the park were transformed into a delightful setting where Chinese philosophy, culture, and architecture unite. The garden has tours for children during the week lead by Pauline Lowe herself. Stop by and check out the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, Confucius Statue, Plum Pavilion, and Friendship Gate. You can even plan to come during the fall for their Moon Festival event.
Find peace in the middle of San Jose at this charming garden and then relax in your own suite at Crowne Plaza San Jose - Silicon Valley with the aromatherapy kits we have available for you. You'll be surprised how relaxed and zen you'll feel even when right in the middle of the bustle of Silicon Valley.
